18. (1) The Unit shall consist of a Board and a Director. (2) The Board shall be responsible for the policy to be adopted by the Unit and to be executed and pursued by the Director and to ensure that the Director carries out that policy accordingly. T he Board shall also be responsible for advising the Minister as provided in article 16(1)( g). (3) The Director shall be responsible for the execution of the policy established by the Board and for carrying out all the functions of the Unit not attributed by this Act to the Board i n accordance with the policy and subject to the general supervisi on of PREVENTION OF MONEY LAUNDERING [CAP. 373. 23 the Board. (4) The Board may appoint any officer or any member of the staff of the Unit to act as dir ector when the Director is absen t, unable to act or on vacation or during any vacancy in the offic e of the Director.
