12. Where a partner has contributed to the partnership a debt owing to him, he shall not be discharged until the partnership obtains payment of the amount for which the debt was contribute d and, in case of non-payment at the due date, he shall be liable , jointly and severally with the debtor, for the said amount with interest from the date the debt contribut ed fell due.
