225. (1) The Minister shall appoint a senior official of the
Agency to be the official receiver for the purposes of this Act and
may at any time terminate any su ch appointment or designation.
(2) The official receiver may authorise in writing any individu al
to perform any of the functions assigned to the official receiv er under
this Act or any other law.
(3) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this A ct
or any other law, the official receiver and any other individua l
authorised in terms of sub-artic le (2), shall be exempt from an y
personal liability whatsoever, including any liability in damag es for
anything done or omitted to be done in the discharge or purport ed
discharge of any of his functions under this Act or under any o ther law,
or otherwise in the exercise of his official duties, unless the act or
omission is shown to have been done or omitted to be done, as t he case
may be, in bad faith.
