217. A grievous bodily harm is punishable with imprisonment for a term from two to ten years if it is committed with arms p roper, or with a cutting or pointed instrument, or by means of any explosive, or any burning or corrosive fluid or substance: Provided that where the offence is committed by means of any explosive fluid or substance the minimum punishment shall be imprisonment for four years and the provisions of the Probation Act shall not be applicable.
