Criminal Code (Cap. 9), article 286
286. The punishment established f or simple theft according to
the value of the thing stolen shall be applied against any pers on
who, having been convicted in Malta for theft, or for receiving
stolen articles, is found to hav e in his possession any stolen article
the lawful possession of which h e does not satisfactorily accou nt
for.
