443. (1) On the day and at the time appointed for the hearing of the cause or of any question incidental thereto, the accused shall be put, without any restraint, in the place appointed for the p urpose. Summons to accused when not in custody. (2) If the accused is not in custody, he shall be required to appear by means of a summons, a nd, in case of his non-appearanc e, an order shall be made for his a rrest; if he is in custody, he shall be brought to the said place in such manner as may be necessary in order to prevent his escape. Misbehaviour of accused. (3) If the accused attempts act s of violence, all necessary measures shall be taken to prevent such acts. Place of witnesses during the trial.
