Criminal Code (Cap. 9), article 534A
534A. The provisions of this Title shall apply to a person from
the time that he is made aware by the Executive Police that he is
suspected of having committed an offence (hereinafter in this t itle
referred to as the "suspect") and to a person charged or accuse d of
having committed an offence (hereinafter in this title referred to as
the "accused") until the conclusion of the criminal proceedings ,
including, where applicable, th e passing of sentence and the
determination of an appeal:
Provided that "criminal pr oceedings" shall include
investigations by the Executive Police and extrad ition proceedi ngs:
Provided further that the provisions of this Title shall also
apply to a person other than a s uspect or an accused person who , in
the course of questioning by the police or by another law
enforcement authority, becomes a suspect or an accused person.
